| Mykonos arrived on an enchantingly lovely day this summer, as I was again on my way to work, just out the door. I put my lunch, coffee, and purse in my car, started it, and then suddenly thought, OH, I might want to go and check on Fiona. Because, after all, she's very pregnant. She looks like the hunchback of notre dame but the hunch is in the front. Or, in my case, the hunch was correct. I flip-flopped my way back to the barn where woila! Fiona lay in the shade, back feet kicked out to one side, tail at 90 degrees. Hm. So, I went back, got my lunch and went inside, traded my work garb for jeans and a t-shirt, called everyone on the planet to let them know of impending baby, and waltzed back out to the barn fully expecting to be waiting awhile. But she was doing all the things she was supposed to be doing, and it was all happening very fast. That's good. It's a nice day, we're due to be in South Carolina next week, this works for me. I see a nose. Whoops! Sip my coffee, wait some more. Finally, a few pushes and va va va voom! Heeeeeere's Mykonos. Mick's got some catching up to do as he might have easily spent another week or two in the womb building resources, but I think he wanted blue sky and fresh air. And he is welcome! We are so happy he is part of our herd. *MWAH!* |
